THE ANIMAL DREAMING WARRIOR’S
RETREAT
- A Five-Day Rite of Passage (for warriors aged 12 – 18)
THE QUEST FOR WHOLENESS - a Warrior’s Journey to Self-Empowerment
Join Scott Alexander King - a qualified school teacher, celebrated youth
mentor and father of three - as he demonstrates first hand his belief
that the empowerment of our young people is integral to the healing of
our fractured community and the Earth Mother herself.
This is the latest in self-esteem building, self-empowerment programs
that will have you and your child forming true and wholesome relationships
that will last a lifetime.
“Throughout history as well as today, indigenous people all
across the world continue to follow ancient rites of passage, ritually
marking the shifting from one time in life to another ... something we
sorely lack in our modern world. And that lack of acknowledgement and
ritual through those shifts can contribute to the sense of being cut off,
not only from the rest of the world, but from ourselves and our true inner
nature.”
- Bec Nelson, Native Journeys
The Warrior Retreat will provide:
• a safe, responsive, empathic and encouraging environment
• a therapeutic community model
• a proactive and relationship based model of engagement
• a health promoting and learning/evolving approach
• a focus on individual and peer support/learning
• a chance for the kids to acknowledge any alcohol or drug related
issues
• a forum in which to strengthen identity
• guidance in reaching potential and future goals
• help to identify and develop inherent skills and talents
• acknowledge and recognise the value our kids offer their community/culture
What do will the kids leave with?
• Survival tools - so they can tend to their own Journey after they
leave the camp
• Enhanced communications skills
• An established sense of belonging
• A sense of limiting and expanding beliefs
• This is who I am. This is where I stand now. This is what I’d
like to achieve.
• Positive self-expression
Times:
• Day one: 9am - 6pm
• Days two, three and four: 8am - 6pm (day four will also include
a trip to Mullumbimby for an archetype reading with Brian Dale)
• Day five (which will include a trip to the beach in Byron): 7am
- 6pm
